"What's new" page hadn't been updated since 6.0 (18 months ago).
Replacing the old "new" sample apps with the three new ones added
for 7.1.

This undoes the automerger skip which occured in
commit e740c84dc3 and
replays it as a standard (NOT -s ours) merge.

Links were present as a workaround for the lack of a code browser
during the L Developer Preview, and are no longer necessary.
